climbing guidebook Skalky - Climbing Guide Eastern Slovakia
This climbing guidebook describes 16 climbing areas in eastern Slovakia and one area in northern Hungary (close to the Slovak border). The areas are located east and southeast of Poprad, among others in the beautiful Slovak Paradise. Except for "Zadiel", they are relatively small areas with a route number between 30 and 150 trails. "Zádiel", the largest and most famous area in the region, is beautifully embedded in the karst gorge Zádielska dolina. With 152 routes, it is only described in excerpts in this guidebook, as there is an independent climbing guidebook for the area. The guidebook "rp v Zádieli" is of course also available in our shop.
In eastern Slovakia, climbing is mainly done in limestone and in andesite walls (porphyrites). The almost 1,300 routes described are almost all well drilled single pitches. The topos are very clearly laid out on full-page colour photographs. The individual areas are briefly characterised in the introduction, and the approach is described in detail (with GPS coordinates). All further information is given in tables and pictograms - number of routes sorted by grade, approach time, orientation, child-friendliness, safety situation, route length, number of bolts...
