Climbing Guidebook Lechtaler Alpen
What distinguishes the Lechtal Alps above all is their terrific variety. In terms of rock, it is an area of stark contrasts, and in terms of climbing even more so. Whether wide runouts in alpine seclusion (Freispitze, Heelzapfen, Bocksgarten ...) or perfect sport climbing protection close to the valley (Burschlwand, Hasliwand, Starkenbach, Gurgltal, Hahntennjoch, Cafe Uta, Lechschlucht ...) - everything is offered, and on limestone rock in every imaginable variety. Among the classic hut bases for climbers, the Hermann von Barth hut with the Wolfebnerspitze and its satellites (Krottenkopf, Hermannskarturm, Balschteturm, Urbeleskarspitze ...) has now joined the Steinsee and Muttekopf huts, since the new edition of the climbing guide now also includes all the destinations on the south side of the Allgäu that can be reached from the Lech Valley. And also freshly added on the Inntal side is the Tschirgant with Karres, Geierwand and Simmering. More NEW does not go.
