Climbing in the Mälaren Valley; counties Uppsala, Västmanland and Södermanland

This climbing guide covers the climbing areas around Lake Mälaren (west of Stockholm) in the counties of Uppsala, Västmanland and Södermanland. It is a geographically large area of about 300 km in the north-south extension and therefore the author has decided to divide the book into three parts; the north, the centre and the south. In the northern part, near the cities of Västeras and Uppsala, you will find mainly small to medium-sized climbing areas with sport climbing as well as trad routes. In the middle / central part you will find mainly sport climbing routes and in the southern region you will find larger areas where you can mainly place your own belays. In the south, the areas are much closer together, which makes it possible to change quickly.
The climbing guide is very informative and finds plenty of space for extensive presentation of the area, the history, the ethics as well as the 40 climbing areas. Pictograms support the choice of climbing area. The topos are simple graphical representations of rock and route, just as easy to read as the site plans preceding each area. This good climbing guide is rounded off with many climbing and landscape photos.
