The new topo for the climbing areas Arguibelle and Barétous in the Pyrenees! Known as a stronghold of speleology, these mountains, where pastoralism is still very present, also attract climbers. Arguibelle, the emblematic rock face of the Béarn and the Haute Soule, offers climbing enthusiasts an exceptional playground in a unique mountain environment. These areas, which can be climbed year-round, are located about 50 km southwest of Pau and include seven sectors with over 500 pitches from 3c to 9th grade! Arguibelle occupies a prominent position among them because its location/altitude, orientation and limestone are special.
The FFME has thoroughly rehabilitated these areas, providing, for example, tables / seating and toilets.
The climbing guide by Jean-Michel Larricq is solidly presented. Site plans, information about the area also by means of pictograms and very good color photo topos distinguish it.
