Further proof of the abundance of high-quality climbing areas in Burgundy / Bourgogne is Saffres! Saffres is located in central Burgundy, halfway between the cities of Dijon and Avallon. Climbing has been practiced on these crags since 1938 and the area has developed well in line with its natural resources. There are currently around 400 routes in grades 4a to 8b on this beautifully situated rock band. The maximum wall height is 35 meters, so there are single-pitch routes here.
The climbing guide has an appealing layout and presents all the necessary facts in a very clear and modern way. You don't have to do without color photopos, clear pictograms and concise route descriptions. The photo location plans contribute to clarity and you don't have to wander around. The best time to climb here is from March to June and from September to November.
