climbing guidebook Drammensgranitt
Drammen is a small town located directly at the end of the Drammensfjord (area from Asker to Kongsberg), approx. 40 km southwest of Oslo. Drammensgranitt describes 33 climbing areas around Drammen as well as some areas located directly in the fjord. In total, the book presents almost 1400 routes in the best granite. The routes are almost exclusively single pitches, the majority of which are well bolted. However, there are also plenty of opportunities to hide your own wedges and friends. The difficulties are mainly in the 5 - 7+ UIAA range. Those who want to climb easier routes will find opportunities, and there are also some routes in the 8th and 9th grade.
The layout of the guide is very reminiscent of the tried and tested Rockfax Guides. The book is very clearly laid out. At the beginning of each chapter there are large, good color photographs of the respective area. This is followed by detailed sketches of the individual sectors and directions, before the individual routes are described in detail using logical pictograms (information on approach time and terrain, hours of sunshine on the wall, climbing styles, star rating, wall gradient, type of protection, ...). QR codes provide updated information about new routes, changes in access or parking options.
The very legible topos are placed as dotted lines over color photos.
All in all, a very appealing guide, completely in color, with many pictures of a landscape that is as tranquil as it is beautiful.
