The Bornes Aravis massif is part of the French Prealps and stretches between the broad Arve valley to the north, the Arly valley to the east and Lac d'Annecy to the west. The 38 areas now described in the climbing guide are all located south of Bonneville. The new edition of this climbing guidebook now describes 900 routes with a total of 1900 pitches. An increase of 100 routes with 200 pitches compared to the previous edition of 2017!
The guide contains both short sport climbing routes and long routes with up to 800 meters of climbing. All the necessary information is presented using pictograms - star rating of the routes, route length, wall gradient, equipment required, altitude of the area, approach time, orientation, rain, child-friendliness, GPS data, parking options.
The long routes are also described in their individual lengths. Unfortunately only in French. However, the book is preceded by an extensive glossary, which translates all key words used in the text into German, English and Italian.
The topos are laid out very legibly over color photographs, some of which are full-page.
