The Bavella massif is a key location for granite rock climbing. It has become an unmissable destination for multi-pitch route climbers.
We have selected 180 routes (10 more as writtenat he cover) from the hundreds that have been climbed on these needles. Our selection covers all difficulties and all styles, ranging from trad to entirely bolted routes.
The richness of Bavella is also expressed in the incredible diversity of geological structures. For a long time, the reputation of the massif focused on tafoni and slab climbs. But this is now changing and more and more crack routes are coming to light.
In this book, you will of course find the must-do routes, the classic climbs, but also recent, intriguing routes and rediscovered gems, as well as the Col de Bavella sport climbing site with its 100 single-pitch routes. In addition, you will find many extra anecdotes, portraits of members of the climbing scene, historical information, etc., that transform this book into something more than just a guidebook.
For each of the route, we give a detailed description of the approach, the equipment required, and the route itself, in particular for trad routes. The larger format leaves more room for photos to give you a taste of your next vertical adventure.
