With more than 1800 boulder problems in the grade Fb 1 - 8b+ (bloc) and up to 8c (trav) in 23 areas from the Oberallgäu, the region around Füssen to the Lech-valley, the region is a bouldering destination of high interest for boulderers of all grades!
Almost unique is the difference of the type of rock you can find here close together. Apart of the dominating conglomerate-walls and -boulders you can also find sandstone, dolomite, marl and limestone in different variations - from ordinary limestone to super rough high-mountain-limestone on 2200 m above sea level.
You can find walls, boulders, circuits with numbers like in Fontainebleau, jugs, micro-edges, slabs, enormous overhangs.... in short a complete playground for all amateurs of bouldering and these who want to get into this fascinating sport.
The boulder field in Hinterstein offers more than 870 problems (and all done!) and is one of the biggest in the northern Alps. The rock type of most boulders there is dolomite, the climbing is like a mix of sandstone and gneiss. And not to forget - all this is to be found in one of the most beautiful holiday-regions! Easy to reach from Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland,....!
